“Being new to the building game we thought Oakvale had a set style and it was different from our vision. We already had a plan that we’d drawn up to suit our block and lifestyle but the onset of Covid and our original builder deciding to retire – we approached Oakvale and thank goodness we did!! They couldn’t have been more obliging and reassuring. The communication between ourselves and Oakvale was always open and transparent and this is why we found Oakvale so great to deal with. This transparency meant we knew what we were getting for our money and assisted our budgeting. Nikki and Afton in Oakvales office were amazing, spending 8-10 hours assisting us with all aspects of the house fit out from the colour of the bench tops , cupboards, floor coverings, bathroom tap fittings etc. Nothing was to big or small for Nikki and Afton if something needed to be changed or we weren’t sure on an aspect of the build they always had answer or solution to the problem. Kurt the foreman/owner of Oakvale Homes had his finger on the pulse of our build and with all of his sub contractors did amazing jobs. Nikki and Afton would always email us weekly to advise how the build was going and also sent photos periodically on the build progress. Once the build was completed any small items that needed touching up was organised promptly by Kurt and done in a timely manner. When we walked into our house for the first time we were blown away that our design had materialised into our “Dream Home”. Firstly we searched the internet trying to find any negative reviews about Oakvale all we could find was positive reviews and experiences. We were amazed that we could take one of the Oakvale house designs and personalise parts of the design to make it our unique home. “It was both big and little things that set the experience for us. Big things such as Kurt meeting us at our [hairy, wild, oddly shaped] block to help us plan and imagine our home working for the block we chose, and small things like Donnah taking the time to help us figure out where menial things such as power outlets and light switches should go. Big things such as patience as we navigated the Admin and financial side correctly (thank you Daph!) and little things like taking the initiative to change the way our bathroom window opened, after I mentioned I’d love to be able to look outside as I sat in my [upgraded because why not!] bath. “My wife and I own a rural property and we looked at many housing options when we decided to build. We always kept coming back to Oakvale Homes as we fell in love with their Woombye design. Our land is hilly, yet it has great views. Kurt staked out the perfect place for our home. Building on poles meant we could maximise the views and still have space for a garden, carport, etc. We were able to make some modifications to the Woombye design to suit the aspect of our land, at no extra cost. Visitors often comment that the house suits the land so much that it looks architecturally designed. Oakvale are very generous in allowing owners to custom build (e.g., changing the position of windows, flipping/mirroring the basic design, etc). They have a great team of trades people and the quality of the build is outstanding. The office staff (Daph and Donna) are always helpful. Kurt and Sharon run a family company and I have no hesitation in recommending them. If you want a building company that is trustworthy, with honest values, and a quality build, then I would highly recommend paying Oakvale Homes a visit!”

“To Oakvale Homes, being first time home builders and only new to town we wanted to go with a local builder. When we were recommended Oakvale Homes we saw that they had been building in Gympie & surrounds for well over 20 years and were a family owned and operated business. From the first phone call and meeting at your showroom we walked away knowing that you were the builders that we would engage and didn’t look anywhere else, the staff at Oakvale Homes have been absolutely fantastic to deal with from start to finish and nothing ever seemed to hard for them to assist us with. We looked at one of their floor plans and then designed that to suit our own needs and once again nothing was a problem for Oakvale Homes to accommodate us. We lived on-site during the build and we got to meet all the trades as they came and went and I can say that we found everyone to be absolutely top of their game. “Our family recently moved into our new home built by Oakvale Homes in Gympie. Throughout the whole process – from introduction, modification, fitting choices and construction – the whole team were very accommodating, professional and were good for a laugh. We had a stress-free build. Kurt is an acclaimed project manager, with all stages going to plan and we encountered no delays. During construction, we were kept informed of all stages. All tradespersons who hand a hand in the build should be congratulated and recognised for the quality of their work: from the blokes swinging the hammers, the plasterers, painters, electricians and plumbers – they are all at the top of their game as demonstrated by the quality of their workmanship. It is evident they take a great deal of pride in their work. The site was left very clean with no rubbish left behind. Since moving in, we have found the house to be a fantastic new home. We had no issues requiring attention, nor fix-ups required. All of the appliances are of good quality and work perfectly. We would like to very much thank Sharon, Kurt, Daphne, Donnah and all the tradies involved for laying the foundation of our family’s exciting future by building us a fantastic new home.
